Expect Painful Increases in Health Care Premiums
Ohioans will end up paying nearly 17% more for premiums—on average that an extra $800 per year.
A new report released today, estimated the increase in health insurance premiums that people will start seeing next year, due to the active sabotage of the Affordable Care Act by Congress.
Premiums can increase for several reasons. This 17% increase ONLY includes an increase due to two major acts of sabotage:
- the repeal of the individual mandate via the GOP tax bill
- “Short-Term, Limited-Duration” health plans also termed “junk insurance” plans.
Regardless of opinions about the effectiveness of the Affordable Care Act, removing these protections will be detrimental to families without any relief.
